Friday, May 30, 2025 Update

Contractor representatives visited the roof to evaluate the condition of the SUN signs. Work to restore the signs is anticipated to begin the week of June 1.

Friday, June 27, 2025 Update

Work has begun on the set of red SUN letters to remove existing neon glass tubing in advance of the needed patching, sanding, and painting of the letters. Once all work has been completed on the red SUN letters, work will shift to the green set of letters.

July - September, 2025 Update

Work has continued throughout the summer to remove existing neon components as well as the patching, sanding, and painting of both sets of letters.

October 8, 2025 Update

All work regarding the red set of letters has been completed including painting and installation of LED components. The green set of letters has also been completed with the exception of the “S” which will be completed within the week.

October 14, 2025

A test lighting of both signs occurred during the evening to perform an evaluation of the completed work. Everything checked out fine with just a few final items to wrap up but the permanent relighting is a go for later October.

October 27, 2025

At a ceremony held in the evening, the restored Sun signs were relit for the first time in nearly a decade.
